The International Journal of Cultural and Creative Industries (IJCCI) is calling for submissions for its special issue on Collision and Collaboration: The Future of Artsci. (Fall 2017). The journal aims to provide its readers with scholarly works, case studies, and dialogues related to issues concerning the theoretical developments as well as professional practices in the field of cultural and creative industries.

The special issue results aims to articulate a vision for creativity and science, and what we would envision for the future of Artsci. Undoubtedly, the division between art and science has collapsed and the two have collided, such that they are actually now merging and collaborating. The collisions and collaborations in art, science and technology could stem from all possibilities and imaginings, which may not be definable and lack any finite dimensions. This special issue focuses on the interchange of creativity and innovation with the aim to explore what is new, to share ideas, to shape future collaboration, and to promote excellence in outstanding research and practice.

We would like to invite papers in the following tracks:

  • Academic Research: manuscripts focusing on theoretical development and empirical data analysis (6000-8000 words)
  • Industry Insights: case studies portraying the local industry practices (4000-6000 words)
  • Glocal perspectives: reviews, commentaries, or stories on local policies, initiatives, and actionswhich could inspire the development of cultural and creative industries (2000-4000 words)

Full papers along with 3-6 keywords should be submitted by 15 March 2017 to:

Submission guidelines:

Length: 2000-8000 words (including notes, references, and appendices) Abstract: 150 words + 3-6 keywords
Format: Word file, single or double-spaced, Times New Roman 12 pt Reference style: APA 6th format

Figures and tables: Referenced in text, numbered in Arabic numerals, titled no more than 12 words
