| 作品描述 | “Performative Aramono” is an interactive sound installation that fuses traditional culture and modern technology. In collaboration with a local business in Tau-Tiu-Tiann that promotes Taiwanese daily essentials, the project explores the concept of Aramono—objects in their original, unadorned state—and extends this idea to various aspects of auditory and visual culture. Through an interactive webpage connected to the sound installation, the project reimagines ordinary objects as a unique drum set, amplifying the intrinsic resonances of space and materials. Viewers can control the strike of solenoids by scanning a QR code with their mobile devices to trigger sensory feedback through sound and light. This “Intra-activity (Barad, 2007)” allows participants to transform everyday objects into a musical interface for collaborative signal-based resonant soundscapes, thus breathing new life into daily essentials and expanding the audience’s imagination of visual culture. Beyond allowing remote control, the installation also examines the connectivity between physical and virtual entities. Participants gain interactive capabilities by granting limited access to personal data such as location and input/output devices to become nodes in the system, provoking reflections on freedom and surveillance in the digital age. When displayed, “Performative Aramono” utilizes objects with historical or cultural relevance to the exhibition site, which allows viewers to experience sonic interaction and learn about the history and stories of the locale. The project periodically hosts experimental performances and workshops, encouraging participants to select objects that are personally significant to them. This deepens the engagement and connection between the audience and the artwork. Drawing on the philosophy of Heidegger, who posited that all entities—both human and nonhuman—are involved in shaping the world, “Performative Aramono” embodies this philosophical notion through its layered interactions and participations. It redefines our relationships with the material world and social networks, offering a nuanced understanding of how these various elements interplay to shape our perceptions of the world.
